Disney's ($DIS) done it again. After taking the top spot in Amazon toy sales last year with Baby Yoda, the Mouse House has again claimed cuteness supremacy with its flagship and icon, Mickey Mouse. The most popular toy of 2020 is a plush 16-inch train conductor Mickey with a pale blue, lightly haunted aura.
The mouse's top toy runner-ups include remote control cars, necklace activity sets, a LEGO Star Wars building kit, a Crayola brand face mask, and a baby doll in a shark costume that shares Mickey's eerie energy.

Earlier this year, Amazon released its own list of the top 100 toys for 2020 -- not necessarily the platform's best sellers, but the items the company expected to sell big this holiday season. The list includes Friends-themed Monopoly, the L.O.L. Surprise Glitter Doll (which also ranked among the year's best sellers, listed above), and yes, an animatronic Baby Yoda. According to the Chinese Zodiac, 2020 was the year of the rat (though many, including Disney, have chosen to honor the cuter rodent counterpart). Disney dropped a new and limited-edition Mickey Mouse collectible every month, exclusively through Amazon, to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Train conductor Mickey was March's offering. 2021 will be the year of the Ox. Your move, Mickey.
