[Top-20-peer reviewed enterprise products - see full list here]
4,029 reviews for enterprise software as ubiquitous as Slack may not seem like a lot (more than 10-million daily active users log in to Slack), but Gartner vets all reviews, which it calls "Peer Insights", before they are published. In an FAQ on its site about how reviews are published, Gartner notes that all reviews are verified through a "multi-step process" that assures reviews come from legitimate IT or end-user professionals. This limits troll reviews and ninja marketing campaigns from competitors. In other words, the ratings are about as legitimate as they get.
Our findings dovetail with those of Gartner, who publishes a "Magic Quadrant" that looks at competitors in various enterprise markets. Zoom and Microsoft Skype, for instance, top both our list and also appear in Gartner's leader quadrant for Meeting Solutions.
Cloud comparisons
Workplace cloud collaboration and meeting software is a hotly-contested space right now, with Slack having upset the industry with its massively popular collaboration product. Microsoft is pushing its way into the marketplace with Skype for Business and Microsoft 365, while Google is busy marketing Google Drive as a way for businesses to work in the cloud.
Comparing the products is difficult when it comes to reviews, mainly because they're all well-received by those who use them. Meanwhile, as the various players expand product portfolios and revise software, reviews — as you can see above — fluctuate wildly between versions. If anything, visualizing these reviews shows that the cloud collaboration space is far from being settled.
