Despite the fact that people are spooked about Facebook ($FB) handling data privacy when it comes to third-party apps, millions of users still log in to millions of apps with their Facebook usernames and passwords.

Top apps like Tinder ($MTCH), Spotify ($SPOT), and YouTube ($GOOG) all allow users to login using their Facebook credentials. Privacy issues aside, it remains a good way to measure relative app popularity, especially on a month-to-month basis.

Facebook regularly publishes most-logged-into app ranks on a daily and monthly basis. This metric, known as "Monthly Users Rank", looks at the number of app sessions via Facebook login tokens.

For the past four months, Pinterest has topped our monthly usage ranks after outpacing first Tinder, and then Spotify and the always-addicted Candy Crush Saga ($ATVI). March was no different, as Pinterest came in 1st place with an average monthly user rank of 3.8. That's a bit lower than February's 2.5-rank average, but it still puts it ahead of Candy Crush Saga, which took second place again.

The bigger loser of the month was Texas HoldEm Poker, which saw a usage rank place drop of 5 spots. The biggest gainer was Yelp ($YELP), which jumped 2 spots in the March ranks, perhaps on the strength of Spring Break.

Other spot losses went to GoFundMe ($PRIVATE:GOFUNDME), which dropped two spots, one most notably to maker community and e-commerce app Etsy ($ETSY).

Finally, single-spot gains went to Candy Crush Soda Saga and SoundCloud ($PRIVATE:SOUNDCLOUD).

It's useful to note that among the most-used apps, very little movement — up or down — is happening. It appears that Tinder's brief decline over the winter is over. Meanwhile, Pinterest's massive popularity is holding strong, as it that of Candy Crush Saga. Meanwhile, Spotify and TripAdvisor continue to be top-10 stalwarts and regular go-to's for app users.
